What Is Kingdom Kids?
We are committed to partnering with families in an effort to build a discipleship team for kids. It is our goal at FFC to do whatever we can to equip parents with the tools to do the majority of the discipling at home. That’s why we use Orange curriculum. Their commitment to families also makes it a perfect match for us and your family.
During kids worship, which takes place during our main worship service, our Kindergartners through 5th graders are taught using 252 Basics from Orange.
What is 252 Basics? It’s not our street address or the number of questions a 2nd-grader can ask in 20 minutes. Instead, everything we teach in 252 Basics is based on one of three basic, but powerful, truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52.
•I need to make the wise choice.
•I can trust God no matter what.
•I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
In a given year, we cover 150 Key Bible stories, 4 Faith Skills, 30 Life Apps (practical applications of God’s Truth)
It is designed to provoke discovery and invite kids into a new understanding of how to grow in relationship with Jesus.
2 years old – 5 years old
During that worship service we also have an awesome teaching time for Pre-K and Toddlers. Using the same methodology as we do for the older kids, we do what we can to come along side parents.
We use First Look during that time. Every element centers on giving preschoolers a first impression of their loving heavenly Father.
Everything we teach our preschoolers is based on one of three simple, but powerful, truths. The entire curriculum is constructed to meet your preschoolers where they are cognitively, spiritually, physically, emotionally and socially. Through age appropriate activities, preschoolers are building their spiritual foundation so that by the time they graduate to Kindergarten they know these three basic truths.
•God Made Me
•God Loves Me
•Jesus Wants To Be My Friend Forever
At the beginning of the month, parents will receive a Parent Cue that gives an overview of what is being taught and how that can be reinforced at home. Each week, students will receive God Time devotions to help them spend time with God at home and continue to make the Bible story real. We also, give each student a Sunday Funday Folder to keep all the papers in. We also have a point system. They can earn points for bringing their folders, getting parent signatures for doing the devotions at home, bringing Bible and more. They can cash those points in once a quarter at a pizza party.
Kingdom Kids is an awesome place for kids to have fun, but more importantly to grow in their love and relationship with Jesus. It is our goal at FFC to guide your child but to also do whatever we can to help you as parents!
