We are all familiar with the story of the prophet Samuel. (1st Samuel 8) When he grew old his sons did not follow in the ways of the Lord. The people grew concerned that there would be no one to judge them and asked Samuel to appoint them a king. Though Samuel did not like the decision, acting for the people, he took their request to the Lord.
